EPA approved "Super Bug" Killer safe enough to apply to children's toys

About Us

Thompson, Murphy, & Murtha (TMM LLC) is a Wisconsin based Limited Liability Corporation that was formed with the goal of eradicating Staph, VRE, and MRSA.

We recognize that today's microbes have developed antimicrobial resistance to several pharmaceutical treatments as well as traditional disinfectants. Unfortunately, the approach that companies are taking with respect to disinfectants is to increase the potency of their products by increasing the concentrations of the toxic active ingredient. Not only is this not effective for long term use in killing microbes, it is more toxic to humans, and increasingly harmful to the environment. It takes several years to bring a new drug treatment to the market. Considering the mounting number of reported incidences, we at TMM believe that "time" is a luxury the public can not afford. Secondarily, why wait for people to get sick?

TMM is taking a different approach. We believe that advocates, institutions,  and communities are willing to join our effort to prevent the spread of disease by delivering Staphacide™ to where these microbes reside.

Tommy G. Thompson, Director

Secretary Tommy G. Thompson has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in public service. Elected governor of Wisconsin in 1986, he was reelected in 1990, and in 1994 became the first governor in the state’s history to be elected to a third four-year term. In 1998, he was elected to a fourth term, and served in that position until his appointment as Secretary of Health and Human Services in 2001. As the Health and Human Services Secretary, Thompson served as the nation’s leading advocate for the health and welfare of all Americans. He worked to modernize and add prescription drug coverage to Medicare for the first time in the program’s history. A leading advocate of welfare reform, he also focused on expanding services to seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income Americans. Additionally, Secretary Thompson is recognized for his contributions to the U.S. response to the threat of bioterrorism and other public health threats, as well as for his leadership in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the United States and abroad as chairman of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

As governor of Wisconsin, Thompson was best known for his national leadership on welfare reform and for his work in expanding health care access across all segments of society. He has received numerous awards for his public service, including the Anti Defamation League’s Distinguished Public Service Award, Governing magazine’s Public Official of the Year Award, and the Horatio Alger Award. He is a former chairman of the National Governors’ Association (NGA), the Education Commission of the States and the Midwestern Governors’ Conference. Secretary Thompson also served in the Wisconsin National Guard and the Army Reserve. He received both his B.S. and his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Gerald Murphy, Director

Gerald Murphy, is a successful businessman who resides in Oklahoma where he owns and runs Murphy Brothers Exposition, as well as Tulsa's favorite water park Big Splash. After establishing Murphy Bros. Exposition as a leading family entertainment company, Mr. Murphy has taken the family business abroad and is working on several international ventures in China and the rest of Asia. Developing these international businesses opened Mr. Murphy's eyes to a host of potential pandemic threats that are on the horizon.

It was after Mr. Murphy heard Secretary Thompson speak specifically about many of the same things that he was learning abroad that Mr. Murphy decided to join Secretary Thompson in his quest to find a solution to the current MRSA threat. Mr. Murphy utilized his vast contacts domestically and abroad which led to the discovery of several potential solutions. After considerable evaluation and due diligence, Pure Bioscience was selected as the partner of choice. Mr. Murphy notes, "Healthcare is unlike the Family Entertainment industry in that healthcare has defined procedures and individuals that are trained in the handling of toxic chemicals. As an operator of several parks, I consider the health of the families who enjoy our rides and entertainment as important as the health of the folks who work hard to deliver the fun. Because Staphacide™ is safe enough to apply directly to children's toys and seemingly kills all of the big threats, I am glad I do not have to make a choice as to who's life is more important."
