EPA approved "Super Bug" Killer safe enough to apply to children's toys

Frequently Asked Questions

1. I am interested in Staphacide for my home, but the website seems to be geared toward institutions. Is it possible for me to buy it for home use?

Yes, you can buy Staphacide and we would not discourage anyone from purchasing Staphacide for home use. The media has covered multiple recent studies indicating increased incidence of community acquired MRSA, which has in turn heigtened the general public to the threat we are now encountering. The fact is however, data indicates that the increased number of deaths reported are likely not from cases that were contracted in the home. Our goal is simple: eradicate the bugs where they reside.

There number of households in the U.S. is far greater than the combined number of healthcare facilities, schools and university buildings. If TMM put Profit ahead of Public Health the website might look very different than it does. Public Health over Profit!

2. Is Staphacide a Sanitizer, Deodorizer, and Disinfectant?

No. Yes. Yes. Most consumers are unaware that Sanitize (kills less than 100% of bacteria) and Disinfect (kills 100% of bacteria) are quite different. Staphacide is a disinfectant and deodorizer as well. Staphacide kills odors by killing bacteria which are that cause of many unpleasant odors.

3.  I noticed that Staphacide offers 24 hour protection. Does that apply to all bacteria, virus and fungi?

No. In order to make any claim in terms of product performance we must furnish the requisite proof (test data) to the EPA first. After the EPA evaluates the data they may approve/disapprove any claim that we are trying to make. The EPA evaluates data very carefully and they also evaluate the specific language that companies use to market their products. This is a valid (verified and approved by the EPA) claim…When used as directed, Staphacide provides protection from Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella choleraesuis up to 24 hours after initial application.

4.  What can Staphacide be applied to?

EPA APPROVED LANGAUGE: Staphacide has been formulated to disinfect hard, non-porous environmental surfaces (painted, glazed tile, plastic, metal, glass, glazed porcelain) and objects including walls, floors, counters, sinks, cabinets, showers, doorknobs, lights switch covers, telephones, bed frames, wheelchairs, examination tables, children’s toys, toy boxes, diaper changing tables, play tables, jungle gyms, playhouses, child car seat, strollers, cribs, playpens and activity centers. This product may be used to pre-clean or decontaminate critical or semi-critical medical devices prior to sterilization or high level disinfection.

5. How much Staphacide is needed?

A 32 ounce bottle covers 900 square feet. However, always consult the label prior to application as there are several factors that affect the “how much” question. For example, Athlete Foot fungus has a 10 minute kill time while HIV has a kill time of 30 seconds. Given that the surface must be completely wet with Staphacide for these durations, the total amount of surface area treated varies.

6.  Do I need to mix or dilute Staphacide?

No. Staphacide is sold RTU (Ready to Use). Staphacide is not approved for sale in concentrated form.

7.  How is Staphacide applied, can I use other means to do so?

Spraying directly onto surfaces is the preferred method of application, and Staphacide is sold in bottles with spray tops for ease of use. For purchasers of Bulk amounts, Staphacide can be applied by filling a container with a spray top (backpack sprayers included). Note: It is important that Staphacide be stored only in opaque bottles (not transparent or translucent) due to the photo sensitivity of silver.

8. What is the shelf life of Staphacide?

There is no date coding of Staphacide, but the shelf life of Staphacide is the roughly 18 months. For this reason, we use a JIT (Just in Time) production method, which means that we do not stockpile large amounts of inventory at our facilities. While this strategic decision may cause delays in delivering product, customers can be confident that the product received was produced fairly recently.

9. I work for a healthcare provider and Staphacide is not listed with our representative GPO (Group Purchasing Organization), can I buy it?

Yes.

10. I feel strongly about TMM's cause, what can I do to help?

We do appreciate these inquiries, and we are contemplating several strategies where we can harness this enthusiasm and coordinate our collective efforts to eliminate the "Superbug". As of today however, we are focused on trying to educate the public as well as fulfilling the orders we are receiving. Notifying your local Hospital and School Administrators about our effort is about all we could possibly hope for.
